Rowbots Gym - London

A few words about the project

Bedrock are proud to have been involved with this fantastic concept with long standing friend and independent brand and interior designer, Sarah Mannerings. She's really aced this design and a big thanks for keeping us in mind for all the tiles throughout.

Sarah Mannerings Studio remodelled the former basement garage in Central London into the first, flagship site for class-based fitness brand, Rowbots. Co-founded by world-renowned footballer Gareth Bale, Rowbots seeks to empower their customers to become enhanced versions of themselves through a combination of mental and physical conditioning designed to test their inner strength and endurance. The 45 minute classes combine intervals of rowing with dynamic floor exercises to work 85% of muscles for maximum effectiveness.

The brand and interior concept is inspired by post-apocalyptic, imaginary worlds, where harnessing inner strength and fight is key to survival. The studio and reception spaces are deliberately gritty and dark with urban futuristic nods inspired by Robotic systems for human enhancement. In contrast the changing rooms are optimistic, calm and ethereal, creating a sense of victory and escape. Sarah worked with Bedrock tiles to specify a suite of clean, monochromatic, modern tiles that would bring to life her vision for the changing areas whilst also creating a simple and timeless backdrop for the high-end complimentary beauty products made available to the customer, after their workout.

Rowbots opened in July 2019 and has already been labelled by GQ Magazine as one of London's best classes for getting your sweat-on. #Switchon
